This nationally accredited course is designed for those working in high-risk or clinical environments where advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy may be required.
HLTAID015 includes HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid and HLTAID009 – Provide CPR, giving you the full progression from first response to advanced clinical support.
You’ll learn how to assess, manage, and support patients requiring airway management, oxygen delivery, and assisted ventilation. Delivered by experienced paramedics - this course brings an unmatched practical lens.
Building on core life support skills, this course focuses on practical application in high-pressure scenarios. You’ll learn how to operate oxygen delivery systems, manage airways using advanced techniques, and provide life-sustaining support until emergency services arrive. The course also covers patient assessment, assisted ventilation, and legal considerations when delivering advanced care in the field.
Apply structured emergency response techniques to assess and manage unresponsive patients in high-risk settings.
Deliver effective CPR and use an AED confidently as part of an advanced resuscitation response.
Safely operate oxygen equipment, including face masks, suction units, and bag-valve-mask (BVM) resuscitators.
Provide manual ventilations and monitor oxygen saturation to guide clinical decision-making.
Apply basic airway devices like OPAs and NPAs, and maintain airway patency in unconscious or compromised patients.
Support casualties experiencing:
Perform thorough patient assessments by monitoring vital signs and conducting structured secondary surveys.
Use haemostatic dressings, tourniquets, and basic triage techniques to manage multiple casualties and life-threatening bleeding.
Complete accurate verbal handovers and detailed written reports to support clinical continuity and compliance.
Understand the mental health effects of trauma on both patients and responders, and how to provide support in high-stress environments.

Blended: Up to 3 hours online + up to 8 hours face-to-face

Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.

Your nationally recognised Statement of Attainment is valid for 3 years. The HLTAID009 (CPR) component should be renewed every 12 months.
